4/24: SPRINGFEST!! - ASB will be volunteering at SpringFest to help out at the Resource Center for Parents & Children (RCPC). Interested? Our team will be cutting & sewing swaddling blankets for newborn babies in low-income homes. Call Jenn at 322-6267 to get your name on the list!

5/15-16: IAGS Recycle Roundup & Electronics Recycling Collection - IAGS will collect electronics for recycling at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds. On Friday, May 15, we are inviting businesses, government, and non-profits to bring their items on the corporate day. On Saturday, we are collecting household items from the entire community. Pre-event opportunities include making direction signs for the street, collecting donations from local stores and setting up the day of the event. During the actual event we will need help directing traffic, greeting people, checking them in, loading and unloading, hard drive destruction, and palletizing the items. Recycle Roundup & Electronics Recycling – Available Shifts: 9:30am – 12:30 morning shift; 12:30 pm – 4pm afternoon shift; Location: Tanana Valley Fairgrounds

Virtual Mentor Program
The Virtual Mentor Program kicked off at the October ASB meeting, and currently we have more mentors than students. We still have several folks we'll be matching with mentors this week & next, so stay tuned if you've turned your Profile page in…and if you haven't, swing by ASB's office in Bunnell 218C or by SOM to pick one up!! Let us help you Network for Your Future!! Please direct questions on the Virtual Mentor program, or businesses we should include, to Hannah Armstrong at <fshma@uaf.edu>.
Business Leader of the Year Nominations
Nominations closed 11/25/08. Dr. Cary S. Keller of Sportsmedicine Fairbanks has been chosen as the 2009 Business Leader of the Year!! For more information, see our BUSINESS LEADER OF THE YEAR page to the left.
The 33rd Annual Business Leader of the Year Banquet will be held at The Princess Hotel on March 27, 2009 , so please join us for the event! Tickets are $50 ($40 for students), and a few student tickets are available, so stop by the UAF School of Management to sign up for a complementary business student ticket.
ASB Monthly Meeting
**Mark your calendar for ASB's monthly meetings! We want YOU!! Throughout the year, we'll be matching students to mentors in the business community through the ASB Virtual Mentor Program, and a couple of our mentors will be joining us during our monthly meetings for brief presentations on their companies, careers or businesses!!**
Chamber of Commerce Luncheons:
In an effort to connect UAF students with members of our business community, ASB is paying for the Chamber of Commerce luncheons. *Doors/Buffet will open at 11:30am. Lunch: 12:00pm-1:30pm. Cost of Admission: $5 or $15 with Buffet – ASB IS BUYING LUNCH for Business students!! ** Please RSVP if you will be attending!! **
Ice Cream Scooping at Fairbanks Concert Association
ASB scoops ice cream as our main fundraiser during intermission at each of the FCA Concerts, so if you would like to see a concert for free in 2009, plan on scooping with us! For more information on concerts, see www.fairbanksconcert.org/
