Blackboard is an Internet-based course management tool used by many instructors to offer additional classroom resources, such as lecture notes, PowerPoint slide presentations, class handouts or online quizzes. Blackboard also provides a discussion forum and a virtual classroom tool that allows instructors and students to chat in real time. Using Blackboard enables instructors to provide instructional material to students 24/7 regardless of location.
Index of Learning Styles (ILS)
The Index of Learning Styles is an on-line instrument used to assess preferences on four dimensions (active/reflective, sensing/intuitive, visual/verbal, and sequential/global) of a learning style model formulated by Richard M. Felder and Linda K. Silverman. The instrument was developed by Richard M. Felder and Barbara A. Soloman of North Carolina State University.

The Academic Advising Center holds regular workshops covering a variety of topics including time management, note taking, test taking, choosing the right major, credit for prior learning and creating a four-year plan.
