The UAF Psychology Department Clinic is a mental health facility operated by the Psychology Department of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. We are dedicated to providing treatment services to Fairbanks and the surrounding communities.

Services are provided by doctoral level student therapists in the Joint-Clinical-Community Psychology Ph.D. program under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist and supported by the UAF Psychology Department Faculty.

The Joint-PhD program uniquely combines the spirit of clinical and community psychology, placing strong emphasis on non-traditional service delivery and social action, as well as clinical service delivery to individuals, groups, families.

One purpose of the clinic is to meet the needs of individuals in our community who have limited access to mental health care; those on waiting lists and those who cannot afford treatment. Referrals from the Fairbanks community are welcomed. Treatment is available for adults, adolescents, and children regardless of affiliation with the University.

The practice has a forty-year history in the community, serving the entire population of the interior of Alaska. Visiting Hours

We know that visitors can offer the best medicine to help patients feel better and return home quickly. However, because patient and resident care is our primary concern, specific visiting hours have been established for each unit. Visiting hours may be altered by the nursing staff based on the patient's condition.

General Visiting Hours: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily.

2 South and 3 West - 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily

Behavioral Health - Monday - Friday, 5 - 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 4 - 7 p.m.

ICU - Family and friends may visit one at a time and at the discretion of staff anytime except 7 - 8 a.m. and 7 - 8 p.m.

NICU - Mother, father, significant other or grandparents may visit any time except 7 - 8 a.m. and 7 - 8 p.m.

Pediatrics - Parents may visit 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Siblings and grandparents are welcome to visit from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. daily. Children under the age of 12 may visit if they are free of cold symptoms or other illnesses, and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Women's Center/Nursery - Fathers, significant others and infants' siblings are allowed to visit 24 hours a day. Visiting hours for all others are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily.

Denali Center - 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily (special arrangements can be made to visit during other times).

The Fairbanks North Star Borough has been operating the Metropolitan Area Commuter Service (MACS) since 1977. This is the Borough’s fixed bus route system. In 1985 the Borough began Van Tran service for the elderly and disabled. When the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) was passed, it required all communities with a fixed bus route system to provide comparable paratransit service for those who cannot (because of their disabilities) use the fixed route service. Van Tran then became the Borough’s paratransit service to meet the requirements of the ADA and provide door-to-door service for its patrons.

Both MACS and Van Tran vehicles are wheelchair accessible and require anyone riding in a wheelchair to use a seat belt and to have their wheelchair secured with tie down straps. The MACS buses have priority seating for senior and disabled citizens. We encourage riders to use the regular MACS system whenever possible.
