Program Information
The Student Support Services (SSS) program located in 512 Gruening Building, provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with college requirements, and serves to motivate students towards the successful completion of their degree program. The program is funded by a TRIO grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
Our services include:
- Free tutorial services
- Instruction in mathematics skills
- Academic advising, mentoring and personal support
- Cultural and social engagement
- Use of laptop computers, labs, and other technology resources
- Direct financial assistance to qualified low-income participants
All services are provided free of charge to eligible students. Our program is staffed with both professional and certified student tutors.

To receive SSS program services, a student must have academic need and meet one of the following criteria:
Participants must also be enrolled in at least six hours of academic study, and intend to obtain a Bachelor's degree. |

For Students
Announcements
We are planning to hold a service activity on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 12-5 pm at Joel's Place--an Indoor Skate Park and Youth Center located in Fairbanks.
Come help us plan this activity for TRiO Day, a national day of service.
We are holding a planning meeting TODAY, Feb. 9 from 1-2 pm in Gruening 207A. Attending will earn you points for grant aid!
Need help with your taxes? There is help available this Saturday from 10-2 in the lobby of the Bunnell building. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance will be providing their expertise for FREE!
Spring tutoring schedule is available! We have expanded hours and subjects!
If you excel in Math, Science or Engineering, apply to be a tutor with SSS!
