BOWLING LEAGUE RULES

TEAMS

1. Four (4) bowlers constitute a team, one of whom is the team representative and signs the score cards.
2. At least three (3) members must be present to bowl for a score. A DUMMY or PHANTOM score may be used for the fourth (4th) bowler.
3. A bowler may not use a DUMMY score for more than two league matches. The DUMMY score is the bowler's average minus 10 pins.
4. If a bowler has used their two allowed DUMMY scores or has not established an average, the PHANTOM score shall be used. The PHANTOM score is the lowest individual score of the opposing team minus 10 pins.
5. Match time is forfeit time. Three (3) team members must be present to start and must begin the match at the designated starting time. Late bowlers may catch up if they show up within 10 minutes of starting time. If a bowler does not show, the DUMMY or PHANTOM score shall apply for the game(s) missed.
6. Teams will automatically be dropped after two forfeits and an absentee score procedure will apply.

TEAM ENTRY FEES

1. Fees are $60.00 per team and will cover 5 weeks of round robin play and a single elimination tournament at the end of the league. Shoes are included in the fee cost. Incentives for high game score and high match average will be given weekly.
2. Fees must be paid to the Intramural Office, located in the SRC, prior to the first match.
3. When a team is dropped from the league without sufficient reason it forfeits the entire entry fee.

RULES

1. All rules of the American Bowling Congress shall apply including the foul lines.
2. All scoring is based on scratch scores.
3. Three (3) games shall constitute a match.

PLAYOFFS

1. A player must have rolled in at least one match during regular league play to be eligible for playoffs.
2. In case of a tie game, a tenth frame roll off will occur.
3. DUMMY scores will not be used in any playoff game.
4. Playoffs consist of a single elimination tournament according to win-loss records. Playoffs will begin the Monday after regular league play.
