Mountain Bike Race

                        Who:   Open to any individual with a current SRC privilege on their Polar Express card.

                        What:  Each contestant will enter the race according to their respective division and desired course length.

                        When: Saturday, September 22, 12:00 p.m.  Please be at the UAF Ski Trail ski hut by 11:45 am for check-in.

                        Cost:   A $5 entry fee is due at the intramural office by Friday, September 21.

           

            SHORT COURSE:

                                4 miles

                                begin at UAF ski hut

                                follow course arrows for trail

                                complete one loop of course

                                return to ski hut same way except bypass “Bicycle Bumps”

               

                LONG COURSE:

                                9 miles

                                begin at UAF ski hut

                                follow course arrows for trail

                                complete four rounds of T-Field loop

                                return to ski hut exactly as course began

 

Complete course will be marked with arrows on yellow.  Race officials will be present at the bottom of the upper loop to ensure correct direction.  Official will also be located at the bottom of “Bicycle Bumps” for return of long course racers.

 

            Equipment:  Your own mountain bike and HELMETS ARE REQUIRED.

WAIVER & CONSENT FOR EMERGENCY TREATMENT

I am aware that participating in this intramural activity involves several inherent risks of bodily injury.  In consideration to the right to participate in this activity, I waive and release any and all rights and claims for damage I may have against the University of Alaska, its Board of Regents, officers, employees and agents, for any and all injuries suffered while participating in this activity unless such injury is caused by the gross negligence of the University of Alaska.  I give consent to emergency treatment, including hospitalisation as may be needed.  I hereby agree to submit any disputes that may arise between myself and the University of Alaska, its agents, servant, and/or employees, in the connection with my intramural activities at the University of Alaska, to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.  I am in good health and able to undertake in an intramural program.
