The international organization Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), has changed its name to Enactus. The name change is the first step in a reorganization effort (Press Release).

Under the supervision of Economics Instructor Sherri Wall, the UAF SIFE student organization has spent thousands of hours over the last five years performing National and International community service projects. These projects have been possible because of outstanding University and community support and have achieved national recognition. UAF SIFE teams have won several regional competitions and placed well at National events.

However, with the change, Sherri Wall and SOM have suspended involvement with Enactus. We want to see what happens with the realignment and give Sherri a chance to devote that incredible amount of time to other activities. We’ll continue to perform meaningful community service projects and entrepreneurial partnerships through our other student organizations.
