About Our Faculty and Staff

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to our students and to the discipline of sociology. All of us are interested in issues of social inequality, and we are committed to research, teaching, and service that will help to bring about social justice.

We are a small department, but we are growing in terms of the number of students who declare sociology as their major or minor. Because we are comparatively small, you will most likely have the opportunity to take more than one class from each faculty member. This, plus the fact that sociology faculty are involved in advising sociology students means that you will have plenty of opportunities to get to know your sociology instructors quite well. Every member of the sociology department cares about your professional development as a sociology student!
