"Reliquary" is a show that takes an interesting, comical look at what happens when someone tries to take away a person's knowledge. Director Matt Krell comments:
"When I was growing up, one of the things that terrified me the most was the loss of all my knowledge. The things inside your head aren’t merely facts or pieces of songs, they define who you are. If you loose that, all the memories of your parents smiling, or of getting beat-up in kindergarten, you would be a different person, with different reactions, and different preferences. The things I value most are the things that make me who I am, things I usually can’t define and rarely think about, and the things that make us the most human are the things that only have the value we give them."
A man has been murdered in his own bed in a small farmhouse in Iowa. Not to worry. The town sheriff and the county attorney are on their way. Unfortunately for the men, it is the women that find all the evidence they are looking for. The women, who are concerned with "trifles" and "kitchen things”, are ironically the ones who find all the clues to the crime. “Trifles” is a classic play that looks at the roles of men and women, showing how sometimes it is the little things that count the most. Directed by Rachel Blackwell.
