How to do a BIO
A bio is something you will be asked to do many times throughout your Theatrical student career. It isn't something that you should shy away from, as it is your chance to create your own publicity for yourself. A BIO should always include your name, student standing, where you're originally from and reason for being involved with the production. It should also include all the theatre shows or classes you have been in. (if the list is so huge and you think it's too long then, list the most important/significant shows/classes). You can also include interesting talents or other theatre related activities or arts. Most importantly, BIOS are usually written in the 3rd person.
Example:
John Gooney is a 17th year senior originally from Nashville GA. Hamlet will be his first major role on the stage but John has been involved with numerous other productions. He was first cast in "Peer Gynt" as "the strange man". He also has been on ensemble for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Macbeth, The Three Musketeers, Henry V and Dracula. He has also acted in a few youtube videos and has special talents of juggling, yoiking and acrobatics. He wanted to be a part of Hamlet in 2009 because he thinks it's the best play in the history of the world and also because he loves theatre.
