Continuing education course for teachers

Earn credit for attending Science for Alaska 2010!

Since 1996, a continuing education course has been offered to teachers in conjunction with Science for Alaska. Current Topics in the Natural Sciences for Educators, ED F593, will be offered in 2009 through the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Teachers anywhere in Alaska can earn one continuing education credit upon completion of the course.

Ute Kaden, an assistant professor of secondary education at UAF, will facilitate the course in 2010.

Science for Alaska 2010 offers educational activities!

Free educational activities are offered before lectures in Fairbanks and Anchorage. Arrive early to take part. All ages are encouraged to participate in activities that include Lego Robotics, creating a temperature inversion with dry ice, making replicas of the subnivean environment, and more!

Activities are led by Geophysical Institute staff in Fairbanks and by The Imaginarium in Anchorage!
