Web registration

Web registration is available every day at UAOnline (http://uaonline.alaska.edu) through Jan. 29, 2010. Web registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Jan. 29, 2010.

If you are eligible for registration, you may use the web to register for your courses, except for:

  • Special permission courses
  • Individual study courses
  • More than 18 undergraduate credits
  • Courses that appear to conflict in time. These courses require instructor approval and will be made available for you to add to your schedule by the Registrar's Office after you register for your other courses.
  • Registration hold. If you have a registration hold, you may not register until the hold is removed by the initiating office. Registration holds and initiating offices may include:
    • Unpaid tuition and fees/outstanding balances on your student account (i.e., parking fines, course fees). See the Business Office, or call 474-7384.
    • Judicial/disciplinary holds. See Student and Enrollment Services, or call 474-7317.
    • Other registration holds. See the Registrar's Office, or call 474-6300. Since UAF is part of a statewide system, a hold at one unit of the University of Alaska will affect your registration at all UA units.
  • One section per class: You can't register and/or wait list yourself for different sections of the same class. If you do, you'll be dropped from all but one section, and that may not be the one you prefer. See "Wait Listing".

Web registration process

  1. Look up courses to add: If you need to find a course to add, select Classes to Add. To assist your search, be sure to select UAF-Main Campus in the Campus field and select the subject.
  2. After selecting Submit Changes, your current schedule will appear. If there are any errors, check the error message and then select Submit Changes to remove the error. NOTE: If you select "Error," you will find an explanation of the type of error that has occurred.
  3. When your schedule is complete: Select Complete Registration Changes to tally your tuition and fees. Then select Student Detail Schedule to see the times and classrooms for your classes in a weekly schedule format.
  4. Select UAF Order Books to order your textbooks.
  5. Variable Credit Class/Auditing a Class: If you register for a course that has variable credit or you want to audit a course, select Change Class Options. Enter the amount of credit you want. Press the Grade Mode menu and highlight "Audit" to select that option.

After you've registered

A copy of your class schedule and estimate of tuition and fees can be obtained from any computer by logging in to http://uaonline.alaska.edu. If you turned in special permission forms or have an overload prior to the first day of instruction, the appropriate courses will be made available for you to add to your schedule by the Registrar's Office. After the first day of registration, registration can be completed online or in person. Individual study forms must be submitted to the Registrar's Office.

Making your changes on the web

You can add and/or drop courses on the web through 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2010. Follow these steps and pay any tuition and fees by the last day of fee payment.

  1. Look up the course reference number (CRN) for each course you want to add, and identify the CRN for any course you want to drop.
  2. On the web, log in to http://uaonline.alaska.edu with your student ID number and PIN.
  3. Under "Registration" go to Register/Add/Drop. Follow the instructions for dropping and adding courses. (You may want to drop your courses first and then add -- don't try to do both at once.) Be sure to select the "submit changes button when you have completed your changes. Select complete your registration to finalize any changes made to your tuition and fees.
  4. Be sure to log out of UAOnline when you are done.
