Composite Raised Beds

Bob Wheeler, Cooperative Extension Service, is studying how well composite wood products made from our local white spruce hold up to our long daylengths, frigid winters and contact with garden soils. Some boards are treated with zinc to prevent fungal attack.

We are using the raised beds with an IRT covering to grow our peppers and eggplants.
