Inflorescence

In 1992, the Georgeson Botanical Garden received its first sculpture, Inflorescence. The 4 1/2 foot bronze sculpture was designed by Dr. Wendy Ernst and student artists, Carol Desnoyers, Rachelle Dowdy and Heather Wells. The project was funded as part of the University of Alaska's 75th Anniversary Celebration.

Inukshuk

Located at the Kenton Hanscom Memorial Picnic shelter and created by darleen masiak, the inukshuk is a pile of rocks used by northern native Americans as a marker to help find the way.

 

the Crab statue

The Crab

The Crab sculpture was moved from its orignial site at the UAF Museum to the Georgeson Botanical Garden during the summer of 2002 and became the second major piece of art located at the garden.
