Public Events and Fund Raisers

The GBG Society will be hosting a 1950's Tea Party on June 28, 2009. Activites from the 1950s Era will be going on in the garden. Plan to celebrate the Alaska Statehood 50th birthday with us!

The GBG Society will be hosting a Garden Faire:

Sunday, July 26 2009
vendors selling their art and crafts
Quilt and Art shows
family activities 1 pm – 4pm
entry cost: $5 adults, $3 ages 7-17, under 6 free

All artists are encouraged to participate and share their works (garden theme –flowers, birds, vegetables, etc.)

We’re looking for educational participants willing to demonstrate their craft, option to sell finished products or project supplies:

• Fiber Artist(s) for dyeing natural fibers,
• Doll Maker(s) to create simple garden folks
• Potter(s) to work with clay
• Quilter(s) to do floral appliqué or other garden related project(s)
• Painters, metal smiths and woodworkers to share their talents as well
• Any other ideas are welcome - we are also doing nature crafts and need volunteers!

There will be limited retail space available in the garden.

To become a participant please fill out and return our application, available on this site in May.. To get questions answered you may call 474-6921.
