Driver Training

We offer a Drivers Training course for all UAF employees. Employees who drive, or may need to drive university vehicles or rental vehicles while on official business are required to take the Drivers Training course. The Drivers Training course is a ONE-TIME requirement. Once you have taken the class, it is not necessary to renew.

In an effort to provide the most convenient method for you to accomplish the required training, we offer three ways to complete the training course:

1. Click here to complete the Driver Training course on the web. Once you have reviewed the PowerPoint presentation a link will take you to the drivers training quiz. After you have completed the quiz, click the submit button and the quiz will be emailed to EHS&RM,

2. In person - classes are one-hour in length (contact 474-5413 to schedule a class for your department), and;

3. Via computer using Blackboard, (note: you must be enrolled in the BlackBoard course. To enroll contact EHS&RM at 474-5413, or fysafety@uaf.edu). At this time, we are asking all Rural Campus' and field stations to complete the course via BlackBoard. NOTE: This request may change in the future. Currently, due to the method used for tracking completion of the course, we request Rural Campus' and field stations complete the requirement via BlackBoard. FAQ for Drivers Safety (Blackboard users) Getting started in Blackboard.

After we receive notification and verification of quiz completion a Driver Training completion card will be sent to you via inter-campus mail. It is a good idea to keep this card handy as it has important phone numbers for emergency notification of accident/incident. The card also has an outline of procedures to be followed should you be involved in an accident/incident.

UAF Driver Training Handout - One page information sheet with important phone numbers, accident notification procedures, and information on how to fill out an accident report. Print this page as a quick reference. This is also a good reference page to place in all the vehicles leased/owned by your department.
