    CRCD Health Programs target village-based health care industry workers through rural delivery of various classes and programs. By partnering with the tribal health system and regional CRCD campuses, the department offers intensive style, and blended delivery courses.

    The Department of Developmental Education, housed in the College of Rural and Community Development, aims to improve and enhance the success of students at all levels of academic preparation. Our goals include the following:  
    • Make educational opportunity and success possible for each UAF student
    • Develop the student skills and attitudes necessary for academic, career, and life goals
    • Assess students’ levels of preparedness and recommend appropriate classes
    • Enable student competencies for success in college courses, thus maintaining academic standards

  • Drum Beats - United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
    Drum Beats is a USDA grant that funds a consortium of five rural, Alaska Native-serving extended campuses of the College of Rural and Community Development (CRCD) and the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Alaska Fairbanks . The overall goal of the Drum Beats grant is geared toward helping Alaska Natives earn degrees in the USDA disciplines of plant sciences, animal sciences, veterinary medicine and environmental sciences.
