The UAF Tanana Valley Campus (TVC) first opened its doors in 1974 as the Tanana Valley Community College. For the past 35 years, TVC has been a leader in academic preparation, lifelong learning and developing a quality workforce for Alaska. TVC has a distinctive community college mission within UAF, meeting the needs of nontraditional students, military students and those seeking quality job training. TVC has been instrumental in building Alaska’s workforce.
TVC offers more than 40 one-year certificate and two-year associate degree programs in a student friendly environment with personalized, responsive and supportive services. Our main campus center, one of nine convenient locations, is located in the heart of downtown Fairbanks and offers a “one stop” opportunity for all of our students’ educational needs, from academic advising and financial aid
to computer labs and study lounges.
Many classes are offered in the evenings or on the weekend to accommodate the needs of students with families and full-time jobs. Our full-time faculty members bring a wealth of education and experience to the classroom and have a deep commitment to seeing their students succeed. Students get cutting-edge instruction and support from those who best know the current and emerging demands of employers and industries. Our close relationship with industry and practical approach to teaching gives our students the tools they need to enter a successful career after graduation.
