NICOP Accommodations

Guests attending the Ninth International Conference on Permafrost are able to stay on campus in several different locations.

All accommodations on campus include a linens (sheets, blanket, pillow with case, towel and washcloth) and daily services are available. Services to each room includes removing trash, making the bed, replacing towels and washcloths, and bedding is changed every three days to conserve energy and water. Also included is a phone with local access; long distance calls will require a calling card. Internet is also available in all our facilities.

Network access is available through the Conference Services Office with a valid federal or state ID, email address, and contact phone number.  If parking on campus, a decal is required.  Decals are available at several parking kiosks located around campus. There are several types of accommodations available on campus, including residence halls, apartments, and a guest house. Use the UAF Campus Map to find each building's location on our campus.

Residence Halls

Several residence halls have been set asside for NICOP guests to stay in, and include Bartlett, Lathrop, and MacLean House. Bartlett has both single (one twin bed) and double rooms (two twin beds) available, while both Lathrop and MacLean House have only double rooms. Bartlett has both a male and female restroom on each of 7 floors, MacLean House has male and female restrooms in both of the 2 residential buildings, and Lathrop Hall has one gender specific bathroom on each of 5 floors. All have a common, shared kitchen facility in each building, as well as lounge space with a television and recreational equipment. Laundry facilities are located within each building, and ethernet connections are available in each guest room.

 

Apartments

Cutler Apartments are also available to NICOP guests. These townhouse-style, two bedroom apartments feature a full kitchen and bathroom, living and dining areas. Each bedroom has two twin beds, so can sleep up to four people. Cutler has laundry facilities in the complex, and ethernet connections in each of the bedrooms.
