Summer family housing is available on a limited basis to students enrolled in courses for credit at UAF during the summer sessions. Although both part-time and full-time students are eligible for summer family housing, full-time students have priority. Full-time status is defined by the following minimums: three credits during Three-Week Sessions, six credits during Six-Week Session, twelve credits over the course of the summer.

Apartments come fully furnished, and include cable and ethernet connections, , electricity and laundry facilities. Residents provide their own linens, cookware, dishes and utensils. Apartments have local phone service (you provide the phone). All residential facilities are smoke and pet free. Students accompanied by a spouse must provide a marriage certificate. Only immediate family members may reside with the enrolled student.

Application Process

To apply, complete the Summer Session Family, Employee, Graduate and Non-traditional Student Housing Application. Print the page. Please read the form carefully and then fill it out. Send it in along with the $50 application fee. You can send a check or money order, or complete the credit card information on the form with a MasterCard or Visa. If applicable, please print, complete and send the Financial Inter-Dependance Form or marriage certificate also. You will receive written confirmation of acceptance and a receipt for your application fee. The application is not a guarantee of an apartment. You will be contacted by Residence Life when an apartment becomes available.

We encourage you to send in your application as early as possible. Waiting lists are established on the basis of our receipt of your application. All apartment preferences are honored on a first-received, first-served basis.

Moving in
