This summer, nine girls from across the country will participate in the eleven-day glacial science program, Girls on Ice, coordinated by UAF Assistant Professor of Geophysics Erin Pettit. The program, 11 years in the running, aims to teach high school girls the whole process of science; to put science into the context of their lives; and to encourage diversity to inspire new ideas, new approaches and better science.
