Registration process for new or returning non-degree and high school students

You are considered a new or returning non-degree student if:
You were not registered last semester, but have taken classes at UAF before--
OR
You have never taken any courses at UAF, are not pursuing nor have been accepted to a degree program,
but want to enroll as a non-degree-seeking student for the upcoming semester.

Registration dates

By web

  • April 21 - Sept. 12, 2008

    Web registration is available every day through the last day of late registration, except during system maintenance (typically Fridays at 9 p.m.).
    If web registration is unavailable, please try again at another time.
    Web registration closes at 6 p.m. on the last day of late registration.

The last day for registration and payment of tuition and fees is 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008.

    Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., excluding holidays

Fee payment

All students must pay their tuition and fees or go through the fee payment process by Sept. 12, 2008. See Semester Expenses for specific information.

Before you register

Qualified secondary school students may enroll in UAF courses while still in high school. See the Secondary School Student Enrollment Form for specific instructions and enrollment forms.

If you have never attended UAF or TVC, or if you haven't been enrolled in the past two years, you must complete a "Quick Admit" application. Visit http://uaonline.alaska.edu, click on Apply for Admission, then click on New Students and follow the instructions for non-degree seeking students. Alternatively, you can file an Intent to Register form to create or activate your record for registration.

Register on the web

  1. Complete the Intent to Register form.
  2. Mail, fax or deliver your Intent to Register form to the Registrar's Office at least three business days before you want to register. (If you were not enrolled during the previous semester but have taken classes at UAF or TVC within the last two years, you don't need to submit an Intent to Register form; go on to step 3 below).
  3. Follow the web registration instructions. NOTE: Web registration ends at 6 p.m. on the published last day to register.
  4. Begin attending classes on the first day of instruction.
  5. Pay tuition and fees according to the schedule and instructions.
