Hello my name is Crystal Alstrom. I am currently a student at Rural Alaska Honors Institute which is housed at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. This program is a bridging program for rural highschool students who are planning on attending college.

I am going to be a senior in high school and I am currently attending Mt. Edgecumbe High School in Sitka Alaska. I am 17 years old and I am originally from St. Marys Alaska, a small village along the Yukon. I would'nt excactly say that I live there because I am away from home for more than half the year.

I have four brothers and I am the second oldest. My parents are Ronald and Pearlie Alstrom. My Brothers are Eric, Earl, Scott and Korvin.

Why RAHI?

Do you want to be prepared for college? RAHI is one of the best summer programs in Alaska to prepare students for College. As you might already know, College is a lot different than High School. For some students, all of the work is too much for them and they often drop out of college. RAHI gives students the skills that they would need to have a successful college education. We learn about time management and how to write college quality papers. This is a great oppertunity to learn and to meet other students from all around the state.
