Hello! My name is Carla Nellanna Jackson and I am an Alaskan Native from Kwethluk, Alaska. It is a village about 17/18 miles west of Bethel, which is 400 miles west of Anchorage. The population is in the range of 750 to 900, I would say. My goals are to become a secondary teacher in Alaska someday after college. Why Highschool? Because Highschool is a time to explore new and different things and to develop your interests. My interests include: playing basketball, volleyball, watching movies, hanging out with friends, doing things that I've never done before, taking risks, and having fun, fun, fun.


My two favorite links are: yahoo and passthison because yahoo has lot of different systems and programs on it and passthison is a fun site where you can view funpages and send them out to friends and family.

My group name is called Kim's Chinooks. My group leader is Kim Ivie and in our goup there is: Gertie Johnson, Isaac Hall, John O'Neill, Lisa Usugan, Ami Herbert, Jackquelyn Joseph, Jimmy, Denise Coopchiak, and Heather Huntington. While at Twin Bears, our group took 3rd place overall in the Fun Olympics, but we could have done a bit better by getting first or second.

CS 105 is my first class in the morning on Mondays and Wednesdays and in this class, we make web pages, and pretty soon, we will start doing i-movies for ourselves, and probably for the whole class.

DEVS 104 is the English class that I am taking and Professor George Guthridge this year. In this class, we learn the correct way to write papers for college.

DEVS 108 is the Study Skills- superlearning class also taught by Professor Guthridge. This class teaches us how to study less and have more time for socialization with the other attendees from RAHI.

CHEM 100 is my specialty class and it is a lot of fun when we don't have to take pages and pages of notes. In this class, I will hopefully have earned four credits by the end of the six weeks. Our instructor is Miss Tammy Thompson and she's the greatest!!

Alaska Native Dance is basically dancing. We learn a lot of dancing from the various cultures we have in the state. We have already performed once before, and there are other performances to follow soon. The instructor this year is Janet Amuktoolik.

My five year goal is to have completed college with a degree in Secondary Education from UAF and going on with my life to new and better things. A ten year goal that I have is to have my own house, be married, start my own family, and to be happy all the days of my life. In ten years, I see myself traveling about the world, taking care of my family, teaching to a great bunch of students, and living the life every person should have.
