LUCY IS THE BOMB

Remember that!!!

I attended Rural Alaska Honors Institute during the summer of 2001

I am from Buckland, which is a town of about 500 people. It is located on the Northern part of the Seward Peninsula. The majority of the population in Inupiaq Eskimo.

Currently, I am going to Mt. Edgecumbe High School. Next year I will be the Student Body President, along with all of the other clubs and activities that I am a member in. I have been going there for the last three years.

My summertime goals are to have a great time here at RAHI, and leave with excellent skills. After RAHI my goal is to have fun at Barrow. What I am striving to do in five years is to have my college degree in either Elementary Education or Business Management. In ten years I want to be settled in with maybe a family.

Right now my interests are in my school work, but when I am not at school I like to do a bunch of other activities. Some of the activities I enjoy are: dancing, watching basketball, hanging out with friends, and listening to music (I can't say all the activities I am interested in, but you get the point:))

CIOS 105 is the class that is making all of the RAHI student web pages. My Prof. is Mr. Maxwell

DEVS 104 is the University Communications class. Basically it is teaching us how to write the right way (in a way we can get through college.)

DEVS 108 is the Study Skills Lab Superlearning class. All the students are required to take this class, it basically gives us tools to use to improve our memorization skills.

DEVM 106 is Pre-Calculus. This class is challenging. We are doing pre-calc, and I swear, we are the only ones that ever have homework, but it is worth it. Greg is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

ANS 106 is Alaskan Native Dance. I already knew how to do a lot of Inupiaq dances, but I always wanted to learn how to Yup'ik dance, that was one of the many styles of dance I learned in that class.

My two favorite internet sites are:

Back to RAHI 2001 student page.
Back to main RAHI page.
