Jackie Byrne

I attened Rural Alaska Honors Institute in the summer of 2001. This is an excellent summer school to prepare students for college. I learned first hand of what college will be like. I know that I will be more prepared when I do go on to college.

I am from Koliganek, which is about 90 air miles from Dillingham. I like joining cross country running, volleyball, basketball and Native Youth Olympics. I also like snow boarding with my brother, going camping, and many more activies we can do in Koliganek.

I have set many goals for myself. One goal of mine is to have a 4.0 gpa all of next year. My other goals are to attend college, pass all of my classes, and in four years earn my bachlor's degree. In ten years I see my self married to Terry Johnson and teaching elementary students somewhere in Alaska. I will have already traveled outside the United States at least once.
