The People’s Endowment was established at the UA Foundation in 1986 with the intent to provide a source of funds for projects that will improve UAF but would likely remain unfunded due to institutional priorities. Grants are intended to be used for a special project or to fill a critical need at UAF. Proposals will be accepted from UAF faculty, staff, and students. All proposals will be submitted to the People’s Endowment Board for review and selection.

The People’s Endowment Board at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is pleased to announce the availability of funds for Fall 2015.
Deadline: The deadline for receipt of complete proposals is November 16, 2015. Proposals received after 5 p.m. of the deadline date will not be considered. Successful recipients will be notified the week of November 30, 2015.
Maximum Grant Amount:$5,000
The board may fund more than one grant depending on available funds and amounts requested. Requests for smaller amounts or partial funding will be considered.
Proposals must be submitted in the provided template format. Proposals should contain evidence that the funded project will provide a margin of excellence that could provide support or assistance to improve the overall quality or stability of university programs and efforts. Examples of projects not likely to receive funding include scholarships or pure research projects, for which there are other funding opportunities available. In general, grants will not fund projects that are part of normal university activities.
The People’s Endowment does not fund honorariums, salaries, and consultation service fees to UA employees.
To apply, you must submit the proposal template provided which includes the following information:
· Title and general description including outline of problem to be solved; how will PE funding fill a critical need or improve UAF?
· Detail of budget requested, including other grants sought and awarded/denied.
· Student groups interested in applying for a grant must include a faculty mentor who will assists in overseeing and guiding the project.
· Applicant contact information, including name, address, phone number and e-mail address, and university affiliation.
