Mission: We shall provide quality undergraduate instruction in library and information resources and in information-finding tools and techniques.

Goal: To assure that our students are adequately prepared to find and evaluate information and to do basic bibliographical research for their courses, for their careers and continuing education, and in their personal lives.

Can student identify keywords in a research topic in order to proceed with bibliographic search?

Re-survey to determine success in teaching/learning the concept

POST-COURSE: Survey students in other core courses to determine, if they’ve taken LS101X, to what extent the course has helped them in research

2. Students will be capable of carrying out a bibliographic search to obtain and evaluate relevant information

ENTRY LEVEL ASSESSMENT:

A) Can student identify elements of a bibliographic record and journal citation to help them proceed with search?

B) Can student use the Web efficiently to retrieve information?
