| MISSION:
We shall provide a quality graduate education responsive to the
needs of individual students and the diverse population of Alaska.
GOAL:
To assure that our graduates are adequately prepared to succeed
in the job market in their chosen area of expertise. |
1) Students will display effective written
communication skills for use in the business or work environment. |
ENTRY LEVEL ASSESSMENT:
a) Statement of interest for admission
b) Written paper assignment in foundation class(es) |
ENTRY LEVEL:
MBA Committee will assess quality and provide scoring. |
EXIT LEVEL ASSESSMENT:
Use case write-ups from BA690 |
EXIT LEVEL:
Sample of portfolio examined by SOM Instructional REsources,
Advising and Assessment Committee at the completion of student's
coursework. |
| 2) Students will display effective oral communication
skills for use in the business or work environment. |
ENTRY LEVEL ASSESSMENT:
Oral presentation grade in undergrad COMM class or oral assessment
from advanced undergrad class. |
ENTRY LEVEL:
Grad program assistants will record grade upon acceptance by
director into program. |
EXIT LEVEL ASSESSMENT:
Oral presentation grades in advance level classes such as BA607,
BA690, BA681 |
EXIT LEVEL:
Sample of tapes to be examined by SOM Instructional Resources,
Advising and Assessment Committee at the completion of student's
coursework. |
