	To provide students at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels with appropriate foundation for the subsequent pursuits of professional careers and scholarly endeavors.
Assessment Procedure and Implementation
Exit survey of all graduates: The department will monitor and record the percentages and success of graduates
a.		that are placed in professional employment relating to their education, including the employer type (e.g. teaching, industry, etc.), and specific employer (if available);
b.		who plan to enter another educational institution (e.g. for graduate studies).
The exit survey form will be required from all graduates just prior to graduation.
Five-year follow-up of graduates:
The exit interview for all students will request a permanent address that will be used for follow-up survey 5 years after graduation. The department secretary will be responsible for keeping permanent hard copy files of all exit forms, surveys, and results.
