What is the Academic Leadership Institute?
UAF’s Academic Leadership Institute, founded by Provost Emeritus Paul Reichardt in 2000-01, is designed as an opportunity for a small group of faculty, staff and/or administrators to explore the topic of leadership in an academic context. Since its inception more than one hundred individuals have taken part in the Institute resulting in enhanced leadership at UAF.

The format of the Institute is a morning gathering (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) on one Saturday each month during the academic year. The meeting time is divided between an invited speaker (past speakers have included, but not limited to, UA Presidents, BOR Regents, Community Leaders, and University Leaders), questions and answers, and a case study. A continental breakfast is served at each session. There will be homework in the form of required reading. Each of the twelve or so participants will receive the set of books courtesy of the Provost.
