Information about the undergraduate
Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
The Political Science department offers two minors. Our Law
and Society minor is a program of special interest to students who
plan graduate studies in law, careers in government service or the legal
field. We also offer a minor in Environmental Politics
in which students are introduced to the politics of environmental policy-making
in local, national, and global arenas
We offer a concentration in Global Environmental
Policy through the Northern
Studies Master’s Degree program.
The University of Alaska at Fairbanks offers Interdisciplinary Masters
and Doctoral Degrees. This interdisciplinary program provides flexibility
to students with well-defined goals who do not fit into one of the established
majors offered by the university. For example, a student could design
a doctoral program focusing on political science and wilderness management.
One of the specialized interdisciplinary degree programs offered at the
Masters and Doctoral level is the new Regional
Resilience and Adaptation program. Its training integrates several
fields in the natural and social sciences to train students for careers
in academia, govenment, and management to address issues of regional sustainability
in an integrated systems framework.
