Tuomas Kyyhkynen

Tuomas Kyyhkynen has performed throughout Finland and across the world, often with great critical acclaim.

He was born in 1987 in Finland and started playing piano at the age of 4, with instruction from his mother.

At 11, Kyyhkynen played as a soloist with an orchestra and recorded a professional CD.

Kyyhkynen has received numerous awards in international competitions, including first prize in the 2013 Nordic Piano Competition.

He has appeared many times on Finnish national radio and television, as well as in broadcasts on Belgian radio, BBC Radio 3 and China’s CCTV. »

Since 1999, he has studied at the Sibelius Academy with Professor Erik T. Tawaststjerna. Other teachers include Dmitri Bashkirov, Bella Davidovich, Pavel Gililov, Karl-Heinz K»mmerling, Angela Hewitt, Leon Fleisher and Andr»s Schiff. He also has participated in a conducting master class by Professor Jorma Panula.
