Clothing
Students should be prepared for temperatures varying from 70 degrees above zero in the spring, to -50 degrees in the winter time. It can take up to 10 minutes to walk from upper to lower campus. A shuttle is available, but you will still be standing outside waiting for shuttle to arrive.

The Residential Life website is located at http://www.uaf.edu/reslife/ I encourage you to contact them as soon as you make a decision to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Graduate Teaching Assistantship contracts begin the middle of August (around the 17th) so you will need to make special arrangements to arrive in the dorms early.
