The Aikido Club is lead by UAF student Patrick Webb. Patrick studies under Shihan-dai Michael Abels, head instructor of Sei Shin Kai Aikido and So-Shihan Charles Scott of the International Karate Association (www.ikaalaska.com). 

  Michael A. Abels is the head instructor for Sei-Shin-Kai Aikido and the faculty contact for the UAF Aikido club. He has been training in Aikido for more than 28 years and has taught Aikido at UAF for 54 semesters! He holds the rank of Godan (5^th Dan) in Sei Shin Kai Aikido and Sandan in Hakakuryu JuJitsu. In addition he holds a Nidan in GoSoku Ryu Karate under Soke Kubota, and a Yondan in Iai-Tate-Do under Yamasaki Sensei. His teachers include Heck Sensei, Lemley Sensei and Shihan Scott.

  Tess Caswell holds the ranks of Shodan in Sei-Shin-Kai Aikido under Abels Sensei. .
