Alaska EPSCoR Student Travel Awards The goal of the Alaska EPSCoR Student Travel Awards Program is to enhance undergraduate and graduate education in science, engineering, and mathematics at the University of Alaska in the three Research Focus Areas supported by Alaska EPSCoR. Alaska Statewide High School Science Symposium (ASHSSS) Grades 9-12 can participate in Science, Math, Engineering and Technology (SMET) Mentored Research. Participation includes writing a scientific paper on student research performed and submitting a formal paper and abstract for competitive revie Doug Schamel Memorial Fund Funding opportunity for promoting and supporting science education and enthusiasm for science in K-12 age children. Museum Docent Led School Tours Alaska Native Cultural Material Docent led tours are conducted by volunteer docents (museum teachers) for K-6 students on a variety of program themes using the Hands-on Collection and Museum exhibits. UA Museum of the North School Tours Alaska Native Cultural Material The UA Museum of the North provides an introduction to the Native culture, science and natural history of Alaska. Teachers can bring their students to the museum for self-guided tours and specific assignments related to classroom studies.
