We know college is an exciting and challenging time for new students and their families.

That's why we designed a special program to help you successfully navigate through the beginning of your UAF experience.

Spring 2010 New Student Orientation is on Wednesday, Jan. 20, starting at 8:45 a.m.

Check out the schedule for specifics.

The fee for this event is $75, which will be directly applied to student accounts of those who are mandated and those who choose to participate in New Student Orientation.

We are excited to welcome you to the University of Alaska Fairbanks!

What will I do at New Student Orientation?

  • Learn what is expected of you as a University of Alaska Fairbanks student both in and out of the classroom.

  • Meet your faculty for academic planning.

  • Meet other students from around the world.

  • Complete university business such as getting your PolarExpress (student ID) card, consulting with Financial Aid and activating your campus e-mail account.

  • Attend workshops on student leadership, getting good grades, campus jobs, study skills, getting involved, financial aid and other topics.

  • Become more familiar with campus while taking tours.

Shuttle information

Will you be arriving to Fairbanks by air? Will you be arriving Aug. 30 or Aug. 31? If you answered yes to these questions, the Nanook Shuttle is here for you!

The Nanook Shuttle will be running a constant loop from the Fairbanks International Airport to the university during these days. The shuttle will pick up the first flight of the day until the last flight of the day. If your flight will be arriving at our Rural Airlines Airport in Fairbanks, please look for the NSO Trail sign to call for the Nanook Shuttle.
