UAF New Student Orientation*

Spring 2010 New Student Orientation will be Wednesday, Jan. 20, 8:45 a.m.

The fee for this event is $75, which will be directly applied to student accounts of those who are mandated and those who choose to participate in New Student Orientation.

Check into your first day at UAF and eat some delicious grub to get your blood pumping for the day!

Meet your New Student Orientation Team and Chancellor Brian Rogers as they officially welcome you to the campus community!

To the summit! UAF Alum Joe Hardenbrook will share the wonderful history of this institution, as well as facts every UAF community member should know.

Choose one interactive workshop during each breakout session to get  you acquainted with some of the essentials of life at UAF. Grab a snack between the last two sessions to keep you energized.

This will be a great chance for you to get to know your Orientation Leader and group members through group activities, Q&A, and an informal group chat. Get answers to your burning questions about campus life and beyond!

12:30 - 1:50 p.m. Academic Lunch & Faculty Panel
Enjoy lunch while Provost Susan Henrichs welcomes you to the academic side of UAF and TVC Director Rick Caulfield shares the many things Tanana Valley Campus has to offer students. Take this opportunity to meet some of your future professors, deans and academic support staff. Ask the faculty panel about classes and academic expectations at UAF.

2 - 3 p.m. Campus Tours
Brave the cold with a walking tour or h op aboard one of our warm shuttles for a heated campus tour. Your OL's will get you aquainted with the UAF campus. Make sure you return to the Resource Fair!

2 - 3:30 p.m. Resource Fair and Dessert
Snag a sugary snack while you meet representatives from the UAF community and learn more about the important resources and opportunities available to students at UAF, including student organizations, academic departments and student services. Check out each table and wear your nametag!
*Done early? Please complete your NSO evaluation and turn it in to the NSO table!*

Multi-Level Lounge
7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Punk Rock Bowling!
Partnered with Student Activities Office. Enjoy FREE BOWLING with great punk rock and SKA music, black lights and lasers! For more fun, act the part and come with punk rock attire and attitude. You will  need a pair of bowling shoes from the Wood Center Front Desk, but this rental is free too.

4:30 - 9 p.m. The Pub Opens Early to Welcome New Students!
The Pub has been a fixture of UAF since 1975. Come meet your campus social hub, friendly staff and tasty libations! Throughout the year, The Pub features: games, live music, Pub Trivia, Open Mic nights and more.
Must show identification to enter - no exceptions.
(optional for 21+)
