UAF has over 100 active student organizations! Joining an organization is a great opportunity and fun way to meet new people, share your interests, develop leadership skills, and impact student life at UAF. While academics are the primary focus of your education, student organizations play an integral role in UAF's complete academic program. They provide a valuable service to the UAF campus, the Fairbanks community, and students by facilitating and promoting: career development, public service, social and cultural interaction, activism, leadership development. Join your peers in exploring your interests and dramatically enhancing campus life!
Student organizations and honor societies provide students with the opportunity to network with the industry, meet fellow students, work as a team on special projects, participate in national engineering competitions, and develop the leadership skills necessary for any career path. UAF Engineering students from all majors have the opportunity to become involved.
International Student Organization Student Organization Description: The International Students Organization (ISO) is a voice for all current, former and prospective students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks with ties abroad. We are the primary student contact if you need help getting acclimatized in Fairbanks or organizing all documentation (we've all been through that successfully!), if you want to get to know other students from around the world and to represent your interests on a university-wide level. The goal is to improve university life, advocate for overseas students’ needs, and to protect their rights. LASO (Latin American Student Organization) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks has intent to establish a community of support where students can share their common experiences while striving for academic achievement and excellence. The aim is to promote cultural understanding and appreciation of the diverse Latin American culture and to establish a mission of service at the UAF and in the Fairbanks community. We will work to develop a sense of pride among members towards the Latin American heritage.
