On MOOCs: How lifelong learners benefit in the higher education revolution

CP3             Add-On I: Oct. 7, 9

            Monday & Wednesday 2:00 – 3:15 pm

We are in the early phases of a revolution in higher education. Battle lines are being drawn, strategic positions are being taken, and alliances are being forged. The stakes could not be higher for educational institutions and education professionals. What is all this about and why is this happening now? Who are the players? Who stands to lose and who stands to gain? We'll talk about the history leading up to and including current day-by-day developments. Best of all, we'll talk about how you can benefit from this fearful atmosphere and get free access to some great online learning experiences and resources. It’s not required, but bring your laptop or tablet if you have one.

Instructor Owen Guthrie is an Instructional Designer with UAF eLearning. He's a technology strategist and a dedicated lifelong learner.
