Women's Center

The UAF Women’s Center provides resources and support to women students, faculty, staff and women in the UAF community as they pursue individual and collective goals. The center strives to create an atmosphere in which all people are free to affirm and celebrate their differences, including but not limited to differences of gender, race, sexual orientation, class, age, religion, physical and mental ability.  Additionally, the center strives to ensure that UAF fulfills its mission and goals related to the education of women. In accordance with UAF’s mission statement and strategic plan, the Women’s Center educates the campus and community about gender-related issues and thus endeavors to transform any discriminatory institutional structures and practices.

The Women's Center serves as an advocate for gender equity throughout the university and encourages inquiry into gender issues by all. Men are welcome in the Center, and encouraged to participate and become involved. The center's programs are about women, but relevant to everyone. It is our mission to provide a strong informational network for all members of our community.
