Joel Neuheimer After completing the Northern Studies program, I got a job working for Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa. While I was there I worked in the United States Trade and Economic Policy division. Then, in February 1996, I returned to my hometown of Montreal and started a job working for the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association (CPPA). As CPPA's Manager of Market Access, within the Trade and Government Affairs group, I am currently working to eliminate all tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade for our members in the international marketplace. Translation: I'm a trade policy lobbyist." Last summer I had the privilege of playing golf with another Northern Studies veteran, Julian Tomlinson, at the Banff Springs Resort in Alberta. I highly recommend the experience to everyone, it was beautiful, including the conversation I had with Julian.
