by Amy Hartley, Geophysical Institute

Sunset on Norton Sound

The sun sets over Norton Sound as viewed from Unalakleet in October. Knowledge of the ice conditions for this body of water are extremely important to the people living in Unalakleet. The Arctic Climate Modeling Program will store visual observations of Norton Sound's ice conditions that may later be accessed by students, teachers and scientists.
