The University of Alaska Fairbanks is making its series of Science Potpourri experiments available for download.

The experiments are a supplement to the annual Science Potpourri event, sponsored by UAF’s College of Natural Science and Mathematics. The event, which draws hundreds of local families to its interactive experiments, exhibits and demonstrations, is held each spring at UAF.

The one-page experiments expand on the event’s demonstrations and exhibits and are designed to allow young scientists to explore basic scientific concepts and processes. They include illustrated step-by-step instructions for performing the experiments, an explanation of the science behind the experiments and questions that encourage children to further explore those concepts.

The experiments are free for use by the public and educators.
