Comic strip creator to speak

Jorge Cham, creator of the comic strip “Piled Higher and Deeper,” will give a free public lecture Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

Cham’s presentation will offer a humorous look at the life of graduate students and will be followed by a book signing. Cham will also give a free workshop on cartooning Thursday, Oct. 1 at noon in the Bear Gallery at Pioneer Park.

The events are sponsored by the UAF Graduate School and the Arthur J. Schaible Memorial Cultural Enrichment Fund.
