Geophysicist to speak on space exploration Submitted by Carin Stephens Space rock expert and geophysicist Gerald Wasserburg will present a free public lecture, “Imagination, Pulp Fiction, Science and Exploration,” Wednesday, June 17, at 3:30 p.m. in the Vera Alexander Learning Center in 201 O’Neill Building on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. The lecture will focus on the past and future of scientific exploration of the universe. Wasserburg is a geologist at the California Institute of Technology. He was awarded the 2008 American Geophysical Union William Bowie Medal for his pioneering work in isotope geochemistry. More information is available online at www.sfos.uaf.edu.
