History, Northern Studies to host Scandinavian conference Submitted by Carol Gold The University of Alaska Fairbanks history department and the northern studies program will host the 98th annual conference of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study, March 14-15, 2008, at the Fairbanks Princess Hotel. SASS is the major academic organization of Scandinavianists in the United States. The conference is expecting around 200 attendees from the United States and Scandinavia. Presentations and panel discussions will relate to all fields of Scandinavian studies, with particular emphasis on literature, language and social science.
