Run for the Refuge scheduled for Sunday

The Northern Alaska Environmental Center and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Trails Club will sponsor the 11th annual Run for the Refuge at noon on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the UAF West Ridge ski hut. The Run for the Refuge is a 5k/10k trail race and awareness-raising event for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Registration begins at noon, and the race starts at 1 p.m. Following the race, Gaelic Fusion will play live music. Calypso Farm and LuLu's Bagels will serve food and organizers will draw raffle winners. Prizes include two round-trip tickets from Wright Air.
