Summer 2007 construction activity

While construction activity is a year-round process, a significant portion of the construction activities at UAF take place during the summer months. Highlights of this summer’s construction activities include:

Wood Center
The food court will be closed for construction until August 29, 2007. Expect new finishes, a new menu and a new look for fall 2007.

Arctic Health
Access to the east wing will be closed beginning July 1, 2007. The project will provide new modern lab space and address deferred maintenance, code corrections and other maintenance items.

Patty Center
The 4,000-square-foot concrete walking deck will be removed to install heat piping and a waterproof membrane. The waterproof membrane will alleviate water in the basement and the heated slab will greatly reduce the time spent removing snow from the deck.

Facilities Services will make every effort to minimize inconvenience, frustration and delays during this period of increased construction activity. Staff members appreciate the understanding and patience of the UAF community in accommodating these projects.
