Alaska Midnight Sun Chamber Percussion Intensive

Program Features:
Held during the first week of the two-week long Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, the AMSCPI is a one week summer intensive program dedicated to the rehearsing and performing of advanced chamber percussion repertoire. Daily seminars on various topics relating to percussion will also be given by Becker and Palter. These include, but are not limited to, xylophone playing, mallet wrapping, memorization techniques, and minimalist music.

Participants will rehearse and work along side Becker and Palter, culminating in two showcase concerts during the FSAF. One of these concerts will be of the seminal Steve Reich work, "Drumming." The other concert will include selected repertoire from the following list:

Program Cost:
$750 - chamber program and all seminar presentations
$550 - chamber program only
$250 - seminar presentations only
$60 - individual seminars

Further Performance Opportunities:
